Our Counselors

We are a privately owned counseling, consulting, and behavioral sciences clinic founded in 2003 with its primary offices in the Anytown area. Clients comprise all cultural, racial, and economic backgrounds, including individuals with different sexual orientations.

About our therapists:

John D. Joorie, Ph.D.
Co-Founder - Psychotherapist
John holds a Doctorate of Psychology from Northwestern University. He also holds two master's degrees: one in psychology and the other in community health. He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and is board certified. He has served on staff at various social services agencies as a counselor and case manager where he provided counseling services and support to individuals with a variety of mental health concerns. He is a nationally syndicated writer. John is also an associate professor of health sciences at American Military University, instructing courses in health, psychology, stress management, and wellness.

Thomas E. Taylor, LCSW
Co-Founder - Psychotherapist
Thomas holds an undergraduate from Marquette University and a Master of Social Work from the The Ohio State University. He has worked in a variety of environments, including outpatient psychotherapy settings and residential facilities. Additionally, he has been a medical social worker for various organizations, specializing in helping individuals, couples, and families impacted by various health challenges, including HIV, cancer, substance abuse, and other health related concerns.

Alexandra Addelson, MSW, LCSW
Counselor
Alexandra, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, earned her Bachelor of Science from Duke University and Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University. She is a conversational therapist. This interactive approach creates a partnership with the client necessary for development of goals, healthy boundaries, and empowerment of the client for change. Directly communicating client strengths and modeling new behavior offers the client the opportunity to achieve milestones leading to increased self-esteem and more satisfying relationships. Alexandra believes understanding one's challenges and roadblocks open the door to new attitudes as well as interest in changing our behaviors.

Angela Atkins, LCSW
Counselor
Angela holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and is a licensed clinical social worker. She provides solution-focused short and long term therapy, customizing therapy based on the client's needs. Angela works with adults, adolescents, and elders.

Greg Granger, MBA, CADC
Counselor
Greg received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, La Jolla and his MBA from Thunderbird School of Management. He is a board certified AODA Counselor and has strong experience working with adults with a variety of needs including substance abuse problems, anxiety and depression, as well as relationship issues. In addition to this work, Greg is an affiliated IAC Career Coach as well as an Associate Professor in the Management Department at Auburn University. He works with clients to explore new career paths, take on entrepreneurial challenges, and navigate the uncertain and stressful process of changing jobs.
